Hya I have been to Cuba (2004) and the Dominican Rep (2006). I thought Cuba was absolutely brilliant and Im looking to go back maybe this year, I stayed on Cayo Coco one of the small islands off mainland Cuba, I have honestly never felt sand so soft it was like flour it was that soft and the beach wqas absolutely gorgeous it was like paradise, the hotel I stayed at was great called Tryp Cayo Coco although the food wasnt as good as D.R. at this hotel anyway I ate tomato pasta for most of the 18 nights! although that was the hotel not the place, the food we had on trips was gorgeous and we went on a lot of trips, Havana overnight-where you visit old/new havana and club tropicana, the rum museum, lots of sightseeing, just loads to do! and so worth the price, the boat trips were brilliant one where you stop in the middle of the sea with this small area of sand/very shallow water oh it is paradise (they actually played ther phil collins 'paradise' when we got there)food also beatiful on there. Also did a dolphin trip again very good value you get picked up in the morning and go around practically all of cuba seeing lots of places that day, then stay overnight in an AI hotel and go swimming with dolphins in the morning then again visit lots of places!! The trips are just brilliant you see so much and the reps are so knowedgeable I much preffered Cuba to D.R. Just a lot more interesting just that 1 complaint with the hotel food although this just the bufffet the beachside restaurant and the 4 a la cartes were good and the snacks were great If I go back to cuba I would definitely recommend Cayo Coco!! Look it up and see what you find, also 1 more thing I found the cubans were MUCH MUCH friendlier than the people of the D.R. I found them a LOT less friendly and at times ignorant!! Hope this helps!

Answer #2:

Have you thought about the Dominican Republic? I would check out Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. It’s an awesome all-inclusive resort that offers tons of great activities. Guests rave about the ocean trampoline, snorkeling, beach volleyball and the circus show. You will also enjoy lounging by the pool and grabbing a drink at the swim up bar or taking a break for lunch at the Seaside Grill. The staff at the resort is also very accommodating and will be more than willing to help you plan any excursions you wish to take. I hope this helps. Good luck planning your trip!
